Tython - How Long Has It Been?

((Closed post, between Terand and myself.))

:: "How long has it been?" ::

The question was circling in her mind today, curious as to how long exactly it had been since she left Kiffu. It felt so long ago, she was beginning to lose the image of her fellow clan members and friends. Though she was also starting to miss seeing those she was close to, even friends she had made after leaving Kiffu. Such as the one named Gennar Loride who she met on Coruscant shortly before meeting Terand, and the shape shifter Tnu who she met on Korriban. But pushing that all aside as she soon faced reality was more, she parried a yellow training lightsaber aside. Clearing her mind once more realizing how distracted she had become. Parrying the yellow beam once again, she was currently teaching herself Shii-Cho. Getting fairly close to being able to use it in more realistic combat, she was long from mastering it.

It had been five days since she had arrived here along with Terand. They had fixed the temple up for the most part, repairing whatever required maintenance and cleaning up the halls of rubble and such. She had also moved into the temple taking up residence in one of the many rooms, though Terand remained on his ship. Parrying once more she then made a move and succeeding, removing the droids lightsaber hand. Hitting a button on a nearby console the droid then shut down. Sighing, she turned her own silver lightsaber off and walked out of the training area. Now peering around at the temple around her, really registering how beautiful it was. Despite it's few remaining damages.

Wearing simply white cloth pants that were loose-fitted, and a tan karategi that she left open. Revealing her black tank top underneath. She was currently barefoot, and had her light brown hair let loose today. Thinking to herself wondering where Terand currently was, she then took a deep breath. Removing a sort of mental weight.

:: "Wonder where Terand is..." ::

It had been some time since Terand had began training Ashaiya. It seemed like only a short time had pass however and his padawan was ready to begin her advanced lessons. Walking the halls, Terand held a data pad in his hand. Each time her passed a spot that needed fixing, he'd mark it on the map and add a not of what needed to be done. He had nearly completed this task. Only a few halls remained to be inspected.

Finishing up with these last halls, Terand was heading for the training center. He wore his usual attire of brown pants, a white shirt, black boots, and his weapon belt. He spotted Ashaiya as he turned a corner and approached her.

"Are you ready to begin with your advanced training in the ways of the Force?"

"Yes Master..."

Saying this with a rather dull tone of voice, she was rather dead today. Though with nothing else to say she just waited now. Waiting on him to indicate what to do next and such.

"Very well."

Sensing Ashaiya's lack of enthusiasm for more training, Terand decided to try and entertain some with the lesson. He walked into the room and past her as he began with the first power. Using the force, the water molecules in the air around him was drawn to his hand. Once the sufficient amount was collected, Terand shaped the water and started to freeze it by slowing the molecules down with the force. Once finished, Terand turned to face Ashaiya with an ice flower in his hand and reached it to her.

"We shall begin with Force Ice. This ability can be used both offensively or defensively. To use this power you much call upon the force to gather any surrounding water molecules in the area and slow them down."

Smiling at the ice flower, she took it in her left hand. Though still kept her mind clear to absorb his teachings. Also drawing any water molecules from around them, she found this rather easy. However now was just to figure out how to perhaps turn it to ice. Thinking back on her training with Force Speed, speeding herself up. She would perhaps attempt to focus this strategy in Ice, although rather than quickening the molecules she'd slow them down. Figuring out how to focus it to the water rather than her legs, she then began the opposite of Force Speed. Slowing down the water molecules.

Though it did not begin instantly as she would have hoped, she still continued trying. Dropping the water twice she had to re-collect each time, and once again back at the point of successfully slowing down the molecules enough to shift them into an ice.

Though successful this time around, she managed to make a small shard of ice. Smiling happily she would have to remember the strategy in which she took the achieve this. But practicing once more she managed to make the shard larger than before.

"Is it possible to reverse the effect? Like once you make the Ice, could you then speed the molecules back up to make water again?"

"That is a whole nother power called Force Spark. It is one of the Darkside powers that you may face when facing a Sith."

Terand looked around the room and used the force to pull a training blaster from an inactive droid. After setting the power to a low setting, he handed it to Ashaiya.

"Next is Force Barrier. This allows you to form a barrier that will block any physical attacks."

Lifting his hand towards Ashaiya, a force barrier formed in front of him.

"Fire when ready."

Slightly taken off guard when Terand asked her to shoot him.

"You want me to shoot you?"

Sighing she took the blaster in her right and pointed it at Terand. Trusting he knew what he was doing she would aim the blaster at the left side of his chest, not that it mattered where she shot. Since he lowered it's power. Mentally counting to three she then fired the blaster at him.

"Right at me."

Before the blaster bolt could pass by his hand, it collided with the barrier and deflected to the wall. Lowering his hand and the barrier, he looked back to Ashaiya.

"Force barrier is useful against blaster bolts, melee, and any other physical attacks. However, it can only be used twice during battle due to it's draining effect on your Force pool. Let me know when you're ready to try."

Taking the blaster back, he aimed for Ashaiya's arm and waited for her to get ready. Once the signal was given, he fired a blast one at a time for each time she needed til she succeeded.

Slightly worried, as she did not know any way how this ability could relate to one she had already learned. However thinking of something that may work, despite it being a long shot. Giving the signal she then focused the Force around herself and in an attempt thought to herself "Force Barrier!" as if it could be activated through command. Though she was incorrect in regard as she felt the sting of the low-power blaster bolt connect with her bicep. Wincing slightly she recieved yet another blaster bolt to the bicep, although a bit lower than the first. Though because they were so close together her right hand quickly gripped her left bicep, the one fired on.

Knowing the next blaster bolt was coming, she knew that she was going to be hit. She had no defense against it, and she couldn't side step because of how fast it was coming. Preparing herself for the pain once more she was surprised to find as she closed her eyes, she did not feel the bolt. She had managed to hold the barrier up, now figuring out a way that the power was activated in her. His next few bolts also were reflected by the barrier.

Pleased that Ashaiya managed a Force Barrier, Terand dropped the blast to the side and approached her. He placed a hand over one of the burns and began using the force to mend her wound.

"Using the power of the Force, you can accelerate your healing to a near instant effect outside of battle. Being a practitioner of the Lightside, you can also heal others to the same effect. Merely use the force to speed up the healing process."

This power, the ability to Heal had a somewhat obvious way of activating in her mind. Most likely it was activated by a desire to heal another, or herself. Perhaps even love was a way of activating it, though not necessarily the love two individuals hold for each other. But a love for the Galaxy itself. Concentrating on a mixture of these two theories her right hand already raised over her burn, and soon enough the burns began healing at a rather quick rate. Surprised as she wasn't expecting to manage this ability so quickly.

Terand smiled as his padawan was catching on. He looked around the room for something. Spotting an old practice lightsabe near a droid, he turned back to Ashaiya.

"See that lightsaber by the droid over there? Pull it towards you."

Looking over to where he had first looked, and nodding she stretched out her right hand and used Force Pull to bring the lightsaber over to her. Though dropping the ice flower she received earlier, it simply hit the ground. But didn't have much effect beyond that. Though with the lightsaber in her right hand she awaited her next instruction.

As Ashaiya began to use force pull on the lightsaber as instructed, Terand quickly threw up his hand before the girl. Using the Force, Terand conjured a bright light to form before Ashaiya's eyes and cause her to drop the lightsaber in mid float. It was an underhanded trick, but necessary to help instruct a point.

"What you just experienced Force Blind and as you have experienced can interrupt a person's concentration to use the force. It is a good defense against someone using a concentration or telekinetic move. Once your vision returns, you may try it on me."

Using the force, Terand pulled the lightsaber to him and the blaster from before and began to float it in the air before him as he waited for her to perform the power.

"Ah..."

Taken back by the sudden lack of vision, she rubbed her eyes a bit. Although that didn't help any. However as he continued to speak, she was apparently experiencing the effect of a Force Power. An' fortunately her vision would return soon.

"Certainly a way to make a point."

It was a few moments before her vision finally returned, blinking a few times in welcome of the images that slowly began becoming visible once more. She turned to face him, and now concentrating on a way to perhaps use the power against him. She simply concentrated the Force out in extension, and focused it on his eyes. Creating a sort of blinding, not necessarily a large flash or anything. But his vision slowly growing dimmer and dimmer until nothing.

"Indeed."

A slight chuckle escaped his lips as he waited for her vision to return. As she performed the move, Terand's vision went blank and the blaster and lightsaber fell to the floor. For a few moments he waited until his vision returned. His vision returned gradually. First blurred then focused. He continued to stand there until he had full sight back.

"Very good."

"Thank you."

Clearing her throat she then spoke once more.

"So, I read Jedi padawans are given a certain class depending on their strengths and weaknesses in certain areas."

"Yes, the Jedi are often summed into three classes to sort them by strengths. The Jedi Guardians Specialize in combat while Jedi Consulars specialize in the Force. The third class is Jedi Sentinels, who use a balance of Force and combat but specialize in other skills. ou would fit in with the Guardians."

"I see..."

Sighing though, her mind wandering again.

"So, what next?"

"Next is Force Absorb. Using the force, you can absorb a force attack and use it to replenish your force power. This move works similar to Force Barrier and can only be used twice in combat."

Stepping a few feet away from Ashaiya, Terand took a fighting stance with both his hand close to gether and palms facing each other.

"Aim a Force push at me."

Nodding, trusting he knew what he was doing due to the previous example with the blaster. She waited into he got ready and then out-stretched her right arm and unleashed a Force Push in his direction. Watching as to what he would do.

As the push came towards him, Terand thrusted his hands forward and caught the push with a Force Absorb and refilled his force pool.

"Let me know when you're ready."

Pointing his palm to Ashaiya, Terand would send a Force Push towards her upon command for as many times as she needed.

Thinking on how exactly she could do this, she decided to use the same method as she did with Force Barrier. Giving him the mark to use a Force Push, she at first was unsuccessful. Deciding that by the name of the Force ability it was probably not quite the same. Deciding she would perhaps attempt to focus his own Force move into herself, as in letting it hit her. But not necessarily as she would absorb it into herself. Giving him the mark again she focused once more and like Barrier, she would Absorb to defend herself from the attack. But unlike barrier, this attack was not from a blade or anything. But the Force, and instead of simply blocking it she would absorb it.

Unsuccessful once again, she regrouped and gave him the mark again. This time successful in absorbing his Force Push, giving him the mark once again just to see if she really did learn how. Satisfied as she absorbed this one as well.

The end of his lip pulled into a half smile as Ashaiya managed to absorb the push for a second time.

"Very good. You only have one more power to learn for now. Force Protect turns psychical damage into damage to your Force pool and your ability to use the force. Use of this power may be used only once in battle."

Picking up the practice saber from before, Terand tossed it to Ashaiya and took a defensive stance.

"Strike when ready."

Nodding once more, she caught the practice lightsaber with her right. Igniting it, a yellow beam shot out and had a low hum to it. Most likely due to it's lower power. Approaching Terand she simply swung the lightsaber towards him horizontally.
