Coruscant: Trial

Zanic did the same thing he did with the wall, but with the ceiling. Zanic jumped up onto the ceiling overhead Richter and launched himself down onto Belmont. With the momentum of the launch, he stabbed both lightsabers down onto Richter. Then, used force push to send him behind Richter. He tried the lightsaber throw one more time with his right hand and rushed forward with his dominant hand lightsaber making a full on stab at Richter. Zanic then jumped backwards taking a defensive stance.

Zanic saw a lot of attacks coming at him. He spun his remaining lightsaber with his left hand to block the saber attack. He quickly jumped backwards to dodge the kick. Zanic quickly jumped back and picked up his lightsaber. Zanic used force Speed to get behind Richter and did a slash with his right lightsaber at an upward angle from his stomach to his chest. He kicked at the middle of Richter's back and came in with a slash at Richter's right side with his left lightsaber.

(Ready for a little more? Couldn’t sleep?)

Zanic had made effective of what defensive maneuvers were available to him. He was able to use maneuver himself to defend his ribs and shoulder from being struck at with his right hand lightsaber, and when Richter went to kick at his upper leg area, he had managed to jump backwards and over his kick. When Zanic had recovered his lightsaber, Richter activated Force speed again and was about to come at Zanic when Zanic came about behind him using Force speed, but Richter was able to turn around and shuffle back and used his lightsaber to strike down the right hand lightsaber of Zanic that would have crossed up from his stomach to his chest. Richter blocked Zanic’s kick with his left heel, and then moved back again a little and used his lightsaber to block the slash of Zanic’s left hand lightsaber with a fencing riposte. Richter then made a shuffle backwards, and flipped backwards using his hands, carefully handling his saber in the process, and then followed by a gymnastic backwards flip back in the air. The purpose of this was to create separation between them while being in a position to deflect back an attack. Then he stood still, reminding Zanic what else could be done.

“Zanic, there are other Force powers at our disposal as Jedi. Think about it. Isn’t there one that can inhibit the site of an opponent?”

What Richter was talking about was a Force power that darkens the sight of one who is being afflicted with the Force by a Jedi.

"That would be called force Persuasion right? Or maybe Jedi Mind Trick? Or...." Zanic asked.

Zanic extended his hand. Bright lights flashed from his palm.

"Force Blind!" Zanic yelled.

Holding his breath, trying not to make a sound. Zanic jumped up and over Richter onto the wall. Trying it one last time, he launched off the wall slashing downward with his right lightsaber and sideways with his left. He landed to where Richter would have been facing front a minute ago and used force Ice to try and freeze Richter up against the wall. Only then did Zanic breath.

Richter sensed much, and noticed he could no longer hear the breathing of Zanic's breath. Though try he might to move with stealth, Richter could still feel his presence in the Force, allowing him to track the movements of Zanic. He heard the clatter on the wall though it was so faint, but Richter guessed what Zanic was planning to do. Relying on the Force only, he commanded it to guide his actions, and when Zanic began his descent towards Richter, the Jedi Knight leapt upwards and grapped a link chain of pipe on the ceiling, then he swung forwards downwards to the ground to the right side of Zanic. Feeling the presence of Zanic, he was directly in front of the previous position he held a moment ago before he jumped. Zanic would have attempted to use Force Ice to trap Richter against awall, but Richter was up to the task beforehand and he avoided that part completely.

"Do not give up. Thou art getting close where thou needs to be."

The darkness over Richter's eyes began to slowly clear, but it was still a moment or two before he could see again. Until then, he had to rely on his natural senses and the Force.

Zanic used force Speed and ran all around Richter making it hard to sense where he was. He ran in and Kicked at Richter's right kidney with his left foot and stabbed at Richter's armpit with his right lightsaber. He ran to the other side and slashed at Richter's neck with his left lightsaber with a horizontal arch. He ran behind Belmont and stabbed at Richter's back with both lightsabers. He ran to the front, slashed at the chest with his left lightsaber in left diaganally going upward, used force Ice with his right hand to freeze Richter over, and jumped backwards taking the defense by spinning both lightsabers in front of him.

(Zanic, I apologize for making ye wait, but I had a power blackout for awhile. What I will do is deal with each of your attacks in different paragraphs, showing what kind of detail is necessary to become a very good RPer. I will also include a counter attack in one of them that thou will need to defend against. Expect a tougher trial from now on till the end, or as long as allowed by Vegito.)

As Richter’s eyes continued recuperating from Force Blind, he did not try to enhance the recuperation speed because he didn’t need his sight to see Zanic. He had his senses to rely on, and they could be better as the energy given to eyesight would now be sundered to the other senses. He immersed himself into the Force, giving full power to Force speed and Force Concentration, and also enough to Force Sense to feel Zanic. He felt Zanic’s Force strength being used again, and by the feel of the air he was using Force speed.

He could see Zanic as through the Force like if he was a mass of light but in the shape of Zanic, and when he sensed Zanic kick to his right side in the kidney area with his left foot, he used his right elbow to block it while striking at Zanic’s lowermost extremities after switching hands with the lightsaber so he could use a diagonal parry off on Zanic’s right hand lightsaber. After he struck at Zanic’s left foot he used that same hand and balled it into a fist and quickly used a straight punch while putting his hip into, striking at Zanic’s solar plexus right before he would begin to run behind him.

He felt Zanic come to his other side and felt the intention to swing at his neck, so Richter knelt and bent his head, allowing the arch to just pass over him. He rolled forward one pace out of the reach of Zanic’s extended lightsaber and then stood up in place.

Zanic came up behind and then Richter then flipped back over Zanic’s head, which would avoid any attack that Zanic planned to do at that point. Richter landed having his back facing Zanic’s back.

He then felt Zanic come to his front, and then parried to protect against the swing that would come towards his chest from Zanic’s left hand lightsaber, and Richter then used his right hand under his left hand to blast a strong Force push at Zanic as he felt a shiver of cold come to permeate his body. Richter used Force speed to wiggle his body to warm up his metabolism, and he closed his mind to the Force, allowing it to settle down and recover his Force strength and then opened his eyes, seeing Zanic flip backwards from him. He allowed Zanic to get back on his feet before he would take the offensive.

“Very good Zanic, very good. I had to exert some stamina in that wave of attack. That is what I have been looking for. Now, are thou done with the preliminary workout? No longer shall I stay my hand. I will come at ye as if I was a Sith trying to fell ye. Fear not though, because I shall not as so much ye in a fatal situation in where I strike.”

Richter reached for his belt on his right side, unclipped his other lightsaber and brought up over his head, the blade end facing horizontally to the left. He activated it and the blue colored blade ignited and hissed. This lightsaber he named the Virtue of Justice, for true justice is what it stood for. Then he put his left hand lightsaber in a horizontal position in front his stomach.

When Zanic kicked Richter's right side and Richter used his elbow to block it down, Zanic could not finish his attack. Zanic used his left lightsaber. Zanic used his left lightsaber to spin around and try and slice at Richter's punch going towards his solar plexus. After that, he tried to get around Richter to get at his head and Richter ducked and rolled away, so Zanic got around and tried to stab at his back, but it was too late as Richter flipped behind him. After trying to get around Richter and trying to slash his chest and freeze him with Force Ice, Zanic's left lightsaber was blocking and Zanic was pushed back. Zanic rode the push and flipped backwards landing on the side of the wall. He pushed forward rolling and then got up.

"If I lose, I will lose honorably!" Zanic shouted.

Zanic took a defensive stance by having his right lightsaber hilt behind his head pointing at Richter while having his left lightsaber in front of him pointing vertically upward.

Zanic rushed forward spinning and bringing both lightsabers down one on Richter's left shoulder and the other on his right arm. shoulder. He kicked at Richter's stomach.

(My apologies Zanic. My, what a post. This is the type I’ve been looking for out of ye.)

Although he intended to get a powerful punch into Zanic’s solar plexus, his position was thwarted when Zanic made a spin around and used his left lightsaber to go after his right hand. Richter lifted his up his lightsaber to parry off Zanic’s left lightsaber. He successfully parried off Zanic’s remaining attacks and allowed Zanic to commence after pushing him with the Force. Zanic made sure Richter knew he would lose with honor if it turned out that way.

“I am glad to hear that, Padawan learner. A Jedi should always be honorable, even should it come at the expense of his own life. Honor is justice, and Jedi represent justice.”

He saw before him Zanic taking a defensive stance that was similar to his yet not quite the same as one lightsaber pointed up. He did not understand what the point of the stance once Zanic came rushing towards him. When Zanic rushed forward and came jumping for him, he struck off both of Zanic’s lightsaber, his right against Zanic’s left and his left against Zanic’s right, and as Zanic kicked, Richter jumped up and used his knees to block the kicks and then slid off and planted his heels on Zanic’s chest and then kicked off them to get away from Zanic. He used enough strong to kick off to roll and land straight, facing Zanic, about 5 meters away.

Zanic's attacks were blocked and he was sent flying backwards when Belmont planted his heels into Zanic's chest. Zanic flew about ten feet until he flipped upside-down landing on his hands, then pushing himself back onto his feet. Zanic brought both lightsabers up.

"You are very tough Master Belmont. Hopefully I can fix that." Zanic said confidently.

Zanic charged forward and immediately planted his lightsabers into the ground. He pole vaulted, but didn't go anywhere on purpose. He pulled his lightsabers out quickly and slid in between Richter's legs slashing at Richter's stomach. He got up behind Belmont now spinning his lightsabers at Richter's back flesh where the shoulder blades were and jumped back spinning his lightsabers.

(Hmph, not bad this is. )

Zanic seemed to handle the kick on his chest very well, though he had been sent flying a few feet from his previous position, as Richter was in the opposite direction, but it looked to be less distance. With impressive timing he recovered and got back on his feet. He made a comment that seemed to praise the Jedi Knight, although it was not anything that he did not know.

"I see thou art so as well. Padawan learner, do not tarry here. Thy fate as a Jedi could be decided here."

Now Zanic seemed ready to continue on, as he dashed forward with great speed but not with aided by the Force, as could see him without a blur. His sight had fully recovered now from when Zanic infllicted Force Blind on him. Zanic seemed to position his lightsaber like he would pole vault with them, but he did not rise much. What did happen before him was Zanic dropping down and pulling his lightsabers as he slid on the smooth floor, which allowed for better sliding speed. He was positioned to slide between Richter's legs but Richter slid his weight to his left about a full long pace and used his right hand saber to protect his stomach as Zanic tried to strike at it with the obtuse angle on it. At the same time, he used his left hand lightsaber to strike at Zanic's right shoulder as he passed while he used right hand lightsaber to keep off both off Zanic's sabers. Zanic slid what would be behind his immediate position if he did not slide left, but now Richter had turned his body around to face Zanic. The Padawan learner began to spin his lightsabers, attacking with both at Richter's shoulder blades, but Richter had moved fast enough using fencing parries to defend off the spinning lightsabers. When Zanic jumped back, Richter froze the floor with Force Ice under the immediate area of Zanic, in about a 5 foot radius. Zanic would slip on the Ice unless he did something clever to avoid the fall.

If Zanic was not able to sufficiently help himself, Richter would rush in and slide on the Force Ice to quickly come on Zanic and then attack at Zanic's legs with his right hand lightsaber and then at Zanic's left vastus laterlis with his left hand lightsaber.

Zanic twisted when sliding making Richter's move barely miss him. When Zanic jumped back, the floor was encrusted in ice under him making it slippery.

"Clever thinking Master Belmont, but not clever enough." Zanic said.

Zanic spun around on the ice having the tips of his lightsabers cut through the ice making sure he wouldn't short-circuit his lightsabers, he made a spot big enough for him to stand on of flooring. Zanic jumped over Richter and stuck his lightsabers into the wall behind Richter. He started sliding down slowly. He removed his lightsabers and did a back flip landing on the wall. He one again launched himself, but this time above Belmont landing on the pillar right behind Richter. He launched himself at Belmont. He came in with such short distance, there would be no dodging this attack.

Richter took the offense after Zanic's attacks by slashing at both of his knees. Zanic quickly switched his lightsabers so he was holding them backwards which made it easier to block downward attacks. When Richter slashed at his knees, Zanic stuck both lightsabers in front of his knees, blocking both attacks. Zanic raised his two lightsabers holding them horizontally blocking both spinning attacks. Richter kept the spinning up and Zanic kept up the blocking the attacks. Zanic was fully turned towards Richter now as he went in for his attack. Zanic put both lightsabers in front of him crossing blocking the first attack. Richter's second attack had a vulnerable point in between the arm and the body. Zanic did a backflip barely dodging the attack and he kicked at the lightsaber, with his right foot, hilt attempting to knock it out of his hands.

(Good thing I saw this. Zanic, you can't use Force Surge here because in the docking bay I don't allow plants to get in. You will have to fix your post.)

(Yes, the chap has been pretty good so far. He isn't at the level needed to beat me like this, but should he learn much from this trial and improve as a result of it, then it is worth it. The rest he will need to learn by experience. I can only show so much and hope he learns from it. As for the count Vegito gave us, this is number one for me. Be careful Zanic, thou hath made a small mistake here, a rather difficult technicality that can prove rather painful. When ye blocks over the knees, thou needs to specify stiffening the defense so as not to allow me to push thy own sabers into thy legs. I will not here, but keep it mind for future battles.)

Zanic had done well so far in keeping up in what the Jedi Knight was attempting to teach him while the trial commenced here. He had given hints every so often, either by action, gesture, or even word. Zanic had not yet assimilated everything as Richter perhaps would have liked, but this was not his padawan, and even in a perfect world, he shouldn't even expect of his own padawan should he ever take up one under his wings.

Zanic had made a good move by changing the position of the lightsabers of his hands to defend his knees, but he angled them wrong, and this allowed Richter's right hand lightsaber to connect with its strike to Zanic's left knee, although somewhat hindered by the mere presence of Zanic's lightsaber in that area. All in all though, it was quite well defended for a young padawan.

Richter then jumped over Zanic like he had intended, while also spinning his lightsabers skillfully to deflect off Zanic's lightsabers. Zanic was able to block his horizontal attack that would have come across in front of his torso, cross blocking it in a well handed angle. His second attack was avoided by a backflip, and as Zanic kicked at his lightsaber, seemingly to knock it out of his hand, he left himself open for another attack. His left hand lightsaber was loosened from his grip, and it came from his hands but Richter recovered quickly and brought his hand under it and rotated the hilt about his hand so that he could regain his previous grasp on it. He did not allow Zanic to regain his footing before returning to his attack.

Richter used Force Grip on both of Zanic's arms, specifically the muscle area which control gripping in one's hands. He tightened his grip only slightly on these muscles, just enough to distort his grip on his lightsabers and the movements the his arms.. This Force power required line of sight to perform, so it was up to Zanic to put a stop to it should he remember what to do. Richter then followed this when Zanic would land by dashing towards him with Force speed closer to Zanic's left side, then make a right leg sweep at the left achilles tendon of Zanic, while making a strike with his right hand lightsaber at Zanic's sternum after making a clockwise rotation to knock off Zanic's left hand lightsaber. Richter's left hand lightsaber would be used to deflect either of Zanic's lightsabers should they be used to attack.

Zanic had just landed from his backflip and he felt his arms being tightened. He put his hands together before his lightsabers dropped and used force blind. Zanic jumped up landing on the side of the pillar. If his force technique worked, Richter would once again be blinded.

(Goodness lad, thou could have tried an attack. Just trying to hurry? Let us see if ye can take advantage of this situation I shall make.)

Zanic did a good job to counter Richter’s grip in what little way he could, and also considering his limited knowledge. Still, his right leg would be feeling a little numb for not doing anything sufficient to defend it entirely.

“Zanic, how is thy right kneecap? Feeling a little numb there?”

Once again, Zanic had used the power of Force Blind on Richter, but this time Richter closed his eyes and dashed at Zanic, only feeling him with the Force. By the time Richter approached Zanic’s position, he had already made his way to a wall, and Richter felt where he was and went on to attack. With his sight gone, he would not be able to hold his grip.

Richter ran up the wall with Force speed and stabbed at Zanic’s general position with his right hand lightsaber, and then using the Force to feel through Zanic’s thoughts and determine his actions. He would use his left hand saber to attempt to strike off an attack from Zanic should he feel an attack coming.

What Richter was doing was almost completely reckless, regardless of his experience and power. What he was doing was creating for Zanic an opportunity to attain a victory.

Zanic spun his right lightsaber beneath him blocking the stab. He jumped off the wall right behind Belmont and slashed at the back of Richter's knees with his left lightsaber and stabbed at Richter's back with his right. He slashed at Richter's right kidney with his right lightsaber. He used force Ice all over Richter. He then jumped backwards in defense.
