I know this is an awful controversial debate on whether a lightsider should be able to use it; however, I would like to use it here as well. I was one of the few Jedi Masters on GT who had this ability, and I would like to keep it if all possible...

If there is need I will give up certain negotionable powers to gain it...aye or nay?

I was skeptical at first about the power, but it is indeed canon...
Considering it can arguably be a Dark Side power, I think the Jedi should have to give up another core Light Side power to use it, preferably an offensive power.

But that's just my two cents.

I had to give up Force Ice on GT...I wasn't happy about it, but I did it anyhow just so I could throw lightningish things around...lol

If you think about it, EJ can synchronize very well with Growth.

Ice is a lame force power anyway.

I had learned Electric Judgment too, but I found Force Ice to be more flexible. Smile

Personally, Ket, I love Ice. I owe Odin big time for passing it through.

I loved Growth when it was enacted...but then when it went away.... Sad I was sad. lol...but yeah, there are uses for Growth and EJ...you just have to be clever. Actually Growth would be better than Ice while using EJ

Using EJ with Ice is just plain stupid.
It would screw up the molecules, and do more harm than good to the Ice itself. Honestly, have you ever seen what happens when you try to electrify ice?

I don't recall anyone ever using EJ and Ice together myself.

It hurts...lol

Ice has its uses...K1ddy when he was taking me through my Knight trials used Ice in four pillars...he created a fog with it to disguise him, and yeah...I was a lot smarter...I just used Force Push and Pull at the same time and well, K1ddy would look like a porcupine after the battle if it had been real...but there are some real uses for it.

Every power has its pros and cons. You just have to know how to use a power. Smile

In my honest opinion, using a combination of Growth and EJ can be a lot more useful than Ice, but I'm more of an offense type. Granted, Ice is stronger for defense, but creating a brush fire out of nothing can really screw someone up.

I wonder if Force Fear is still used on J/S. When I think about it, it just can't really work with RPing.

Fear and Insanity are mostly used out of combat as a form of torture, though I have used it to distract people. It was effective enough.

Since it is canon, you shouldn't need to give up a core Force power for EJ.

I don't think powers were given up because whether or not they were canon, but because how powerful they are.

Yeah, I had to give up Force Lightning for Force Wind.

I don't think so. It's to prevent people from being all incredibly powerful.

Earning it and simply teaching yourself are different.

I taught myself Force Wind, thus I had to give up Lightning.
In the off chance I were to teach Wind to someone else, they wouldn't have to give anything up.

One of my old Sith characters that I believe I never killed off (Adron or Darth Thanatos if any of you remember back then) knew Force Slow and used it to counter-act K1ddy's force speed. I didn't give anything up for it though.

I haven't given up any powers for the extra ones I got, but at the same time I limit how many different ones I would use in a battle (not that I get my character into many battles anyway) Very Happy
