((Characters: Galven Lund & Atrum Ingenium))
"Latest reports suggest that Jacen fled the scene in a transport and that the Wayland Empire has engaged the Jedi in battle." Atrum sat in one of several yellow chairs circling a circular table.
"I can't see what he hopes to achieve." Galven replied, sat in his chair and fiddling with a large crystalline object. It contained the entire Wayland Empire Databank, the only copy left in existence after he and Atrum had destroyed the Wayland Empire's own copy. "Why send your whole fleet into a battle you know you can't win? It doesn't make any sense."
"Unless he wants to lose the fleet?" Atrum guessed. "He seemed addicted to gaining more power rather than caring about his Empire."
"Maybe." Galven said as he placed the crystal in a holder at the centre of the table. "What about you though?"
"Me?" Atrum asked.
"No Redack using you, no CABAL controlling you, no Jacen pretending to care about you so that you'll serve his Empire... You have no reason to be here." Galven stated.
"Neither do you." Atrum countered with a smile. It was the first time Galven had actually seen him smile, or show any signs of being happy. "I guess I'm just used to having a purpose, how can I go back to being a simple ordinary citizen of the Republic with nothing to do but earn credits to pay for things, and then want more things and have to earn more credits to pay for it... A loop of life without any purpose."
"Oh how true I know that to be..." Galven said, he had planned to say more but he felt the ship decelerate as it dropped from hyperspace. "Time for battle then."
The two got up and walked out of the room, immediately entering the command room. Galven took his position in the command chair and Atrum stood beside him. The planet Lwhekk looked so defenceless and so beautiful from orbit. One of those was a truth and the other a mistake to take such a judgement. Lwhekk was guarded by the xenophobic Ssi-ruuvi Imperium and with it being their home world that was no surprise. A small fleet of Ssi-ruuk ships was guarding the world, no match for the fleet of two thousand, seven hundred and one (2701) Celestial class Battlecruisers approaching their planet- one of which was Eternia the force enhanced command ship.
"Ssi-ruuk ships, we come in peace with an offer." Galven Lund said, he was well aware of the xenophobic nature of these creatures but he was also aware that they weren't stupid and were also willing to put that nature aside for their own greater good. Of course, after the Chiss & Yuuzhan Vong invasions of their territory the Ssi-ruuk had been left in a vulnerable state- opening the way for today's event.
"You intrude on our territory, state your intentions or prepare to be fired upon." The Ssi-ruuk replied on the comm system.
"We would like to offer you the chance to join the Celestial Ascendancy." Galven Lund stated. "With this comes the chance to extent your Imperium's strength, we will share our technology with you and likewise your technology will be ours. You will be able to keep the vast majority of your planets resources and a joint council will be elected consisting of members and members of our fleet."
"Your technology does not look harmful to us... Demonstrate its power." The lizard's voice replied on the comm.
"Very well." Galven replied and nodded to the weapon's office. One of the Plasmabeam cannons was fired into empty space, anyone with scanning equipment could get a reading on the potential power of the beam.
"You have impressed us, this agreement will be made official." The voice said, it seemed genuinely impressed with the display.
"Welcome the the Ascendancy." Galven said and shut off the comm system. "See, no trouble at all."
"We should begin construction of the space station at once." Atrum stated. Galven agreed, but he didn't want to ask for permission to do it just yet. The Ssi-ruuk were to be respected and to ask for permission now right after forming an alliance would probably only harm relations and destroy the alliance they had just formed.
"Soon, the Celestial Ascendancy will still exist tomorrow. Our fleet isn't going to be destroyed by anyone because no one ever comes out here." Galven stated. He sat back and relax in the command chair. Tomorrow they would begin construction of a massive space station that would accommodate the leaders of their new Ascendancy...
