| Now I know this issue has been brought up time and time again. Along with many others, however I feel it should continue to be brought up every now and then. Even if all it achieves is that we are all on the same page.
Now, I think its safe to say we cannot give jedi sith a set time line in star wars because of technology and character history issues.
But do we want to create our own time line for jedi sith, where things are recorded and we create a history that actually moves forward? This brings up a few issues like would we actually progress time that people would have to abide by? How would we do it and how fast would it happen? We would also need a few people to record major events. Though I think this could be done pretty easily. We could even add small events if we just set up a post where people could post so that we could add that rather then do research.
But then do we even want this?
What sort of benefits could come with this? Maybe just a news and roleplay announcement thing would be nice?

| One problem is it'll be damn hard to record ome past events because I doubt any of us can remember all the important stuff that happened... As for a time in Star Wars history, I sort of consider JS to be an alternate reality of sorts... Though the idea is useful, helps record... I found that those weekly "news" posts allowed me to keep track of what was going on alot more So this sort of thing is good, but it needs to be done properly... | |

| Maybe we should add a forum just for the weekly news. This could help keep track of what happened and people can throw in things that were missed in the news post. Then all the important stuff can be added to a time line. | |

| Yeah, as far as past events... we can't really recall very many and if your like me you don't even know what chronological order they went in.
So we should have an events forum (though we should set something up where it can be free of spamming. The heated debate forum didn't last long.)
site staff can update major events and then we could maybe add like a minor events thing where each person can add their own thing?

There's a timeline of most of the major events of the forum, compiled first by K1ddy and later by Zalthrax. It's missing the stuff from the past year, though. Someone could probably IM K1ddy and get the password to update it.
As for the news, I don't know how necessary that is at this point and time...at least, not weekly news. How many RP posts have we had in the past week? I count 5 that had any IC replies at all. I don't really know why we'd need a news post for that. Granted, some of the posts that had no replies were fairly important informational posts, but still, when I did the news last summer, we had probably 20-25 stories a week. 5 RPs are much easier to keep track of. |

| Could set up the events forum so that only certain people can post there and others can just view it if possible. | |

| That doesn't mean we can't plan it now so that we'll be ready for when we do pick up on activity. | |

| Personally, I think there are too many backup sites, rule and Jedi or Sith sites, and too many timelines. We should all just make a global site for everyone that has everything, and that a lot of people should have the ability to edit/add to timelimes and such. Because of the fact there are so many people that so many different sites and then going on long leave, there are a lot of sites that are abandoned and neglected, and hardly that well maintained in the first place. I can count how many gaps I have seen in the various J/S timelines, mostly because I have been present intermittiently on this site for six years. So we need to work something out. | |

| I'd like to know how we got the name "Jedi/Sith" anyway. We were a society formed in the game discussion forum for Star Wars: Obi-Wan for the XBox. That forum was going to get sacked, but apparently we had too big a group for the GT moderators to let go without a home. Somehow we got called "Jedi/Sith" rather than "Star Wars RPG." I mean honestly, this forum's characters are not exclusive to just Jedi and Sith, it includes all possible Star Wars beings, so why call it that? | |

| BEcause George Lucas would rip off our heads otherwise? Had we called it Star Wars RPG, that would be vague... J/S really gets down to the fact that the main problem on this place is the J S fighting. We are the Jedi/Sith. That's that. |

Actually, there are plenty of places that are called "Star Wars RPG." George Lucas couldn't sue us unless we took credit for making his universe. Star Wars RPG is not vague as "Jedi/Sith." As I recall, there was such a forum on GT, though I didn't see the point to it, since we are the original SW RPers on GT anyway.

| There are other places using the "Star Wars" name you know. Jedi/Sith is a unique name among all that though. | |

| I think what he means is, this forum's characters are not limited to just Jedi and Sith. While the majority of the forum are Sith or Jedi (or something in between), there are bounty hunters and Vong like Richter said, and they are also droids, soldiers, military men and the like. Definitely not exclusive to Jedi and Sith. | |

What sort of benefits could come with this? Maybe just a news and roleplay announcement thing would be nice? From what I've seen, the events that have occurred on JediSith have been recorded pretty accurately from a time when "JediSith" didn't even exist yet (that's approx 6+ years). The passage of time, when recorded, doesn't have to be exact. It's not like its stated anywhere that Merlock, Kain, or Steel ruled for any length of time. Don't stress over it and don't fix what's not broken
